5th place in Worcestershire Poet Laureate 2012 contest
Damon Lord, hard at work performing his poetry
I am happy to announce that after a fine evening trading words with wonderfully challenging rivals last Friday, I came fifth in my endeavours to become the quest to become Worcestershire Poet Laureate 2012. My pieces were "Diamond Days and Diamond Nights", a poem about the dangers of fame, and the other was "Thank You For Calling", a few lines dedicated to the frustration of being on the phone to some companies' call centres. A fun evening was had by all, and opened a week of exciting events in the second Worcestershire Literary Festival.
